Rhinoplasty Cost
In these hard economic times, it seems almost frivolous to even consider rhinoplasty. But wait, not all nose suregery is just for vanity's sake. For some people it means the difference in constant stuffiness and difficulty breathing to being able to breath normally. Even when rhinoplasty is done for cosmetic purposes, the boost to a person's self esteem may well be worth the cost of the procedure. What about cancer patients or accident victims? There must be a way to help them without breaking the bank. Unfortunately insurance often does not cover cosmetic surgery, but when there is a medical issure, partial or full coverage may be available.
Costs vary from one doctor to another and even from one geographic area to another. Where does it cost the most? Beverly Hills, right? Wrong, The facility costs are actually much higher in New York resulting in higher prices. Surgical fees are not the only costs. There are fees for the use of the facility, anesthesia, lab work and prescriptions. We all know how that goes. Everything that can be charged for will be charged for. In researching costs, I found fees ranging from $4,000.00 to $15,000.00. Certainly the difficulty of the surgery will play a part in the cost as well as the other things I have mentioned.
So how are we going to pay for this? When I was just out of high school, I worked for our family doctor during the summer. One of his elderly patients paid her bill by faithfully delivering a homemade cake every Monday. Sometimes she included some fresh eggs and vegetables from her garden. I doubt that doctors in today's environment would be placated by baked goods and produce. While some offices offer a payment plan, many do not. Most places need payment at time of services. Some very smart companies have addressed this need. Care Credit, for example offers a credit card for medical and even veterinary expenses. The doctor is paid in full and you pay them back on a monthly plan. Other companies have jumped on the band wagon and many offer very affordable payments and interest rates as low as 5.9% and up, depending on your credit rating. This is certainly preferable to maxing out your credit cards to pay for your new and improved nose.
Even if your credit is not up to par, they may be able to finance you, at a higher interest rate of course. one company that I looked at loans from $1500.00 up to $25,000.00. If you should hit the lottery, there is no penalty for prepayment. How great is that?
The cost of rhinoplasty is a factor in whether or not you decide to do it, but there are options to make it affordable for most people. Now that you have the information, go ahead and get your new nose.
